  • under the age of 26 as of April 1 of the application year.
  • a student enrolled in a 4-year college music degree program, or a high school senior accepted for enrollment in a 4-year college music degree program.

High school seniors and college freshmen must perform at a grade 3 or above, and all others at grade 4 or above. The solo must be (1) no longer than ten minutes in length, and (2) accompanied by a clean, reproduced copy of the printed solo.

Submission

Mail application packet to:

NMA Scholarship Fund Coordinator

1652 Canonade Court

Annapolis, MD 21409

Judging

The Coordinator will assign a receipt number to each applicant's package. The judges will judge in the blind, i.e., they will only know the applicant by number. Judges will score applicants using the Navy Musicians Association Adjudication Sheet, which you can download here. When judging is complete, the Coordinator will forward recommendations to the President of the Navy Musicians Association for award presentations to the deserving applicants. The decision of the Scholarship Committee is final.
